JANUARY SALE-BEAUTY HAUL!!!

Although January should be a month to give the bank card a rest and reflect on shameless over-spending at Christmas, I couldnt resist having a good old riffle through the sales to see what beauty bargains I could pick up for the year ahead...

THE BODY SHOP: Cranberry Joy Shimmer Lotion
(Christmas limited edition)

This shimmering body lotion with Cranberry & Shea butter smells amazing!!
It's a light-weight hydrating soufflĂ© and gives a gorgeous shimmer to the skin-
Ideal for accentuating your chest, shoulders & legs.
Reduced to €4.99

SALLY HANSON COMPLETE MANICURE:
''Back to the Fuschia & All Fired Up.''

I have purchased Sally Hanson Nail Polishes before and was very impressed with them, so I was delighted to pick up 2 colours for €10 on eBay.
Usually my nail polish is lucky to see past the first day without it chipping mercilessly, I find this polish suprisingly long lasting and it comes in an array of beautiful pigments. The colours above are my favourite picks!

REAL TECHNIQUES

have been a fan of the real technique brushes ever since they launched in 2011, their synthetic hair give such a flawless finish to the face, so when I saw that Boots had a
'3 for 2' offer, I just had to add to my ever-growing collection.
I picked up the Powder brush, Expert Face brush and another of the Beauty Blending sponges.

MAC LIPSTICKS

Ok, so after depoting 24 of my Mac eyeshadows and returning the empty pots to my nearest counter, I qualified for 4 FREE Lipsticks!!!
(Worth a whopping €72-Save those empties ladies!)
Being a lipstick fanatic, I was like a kid in a sweet shop frantically swatching up to my elbow with all the amazing colours on offer.
After a long stint of indecisiveness, I finally opted for the beautiful vibrant colours above and they are now sitting pretty with their new siblings patiently awaiting their turn to shine!

*The Products below were not on sale, however as a MakeUp Artist I needed to repurchase a few of my MakeUp Kit essentials!!!

SUFFERING FROM EYESHADOW CLUTTER?!?

Look no further ladies, there is an easy and organised solution!

                              HOW TO DEPOT YOUR EYESHADOWS!

*What you will need:

1.Hair Straighteners
2.A sharp Knife
3.Tweezers
4.Tinfoil
5.Empty Magnetic Eyeshadow Palette

Step 1.

Take your eyeshadow pot and push a sharp knife into the middle of the pot and push upwards.
The eyeshadow pan should pop out easily
(Be careful doing this step, we dont want any injured fingers!)

Step 2.

Turn your straightener on to 200degrees and place a square of tinfoil on the plate with your eyeshadow pan ontop for approximately 2mins.

Step 3.

Lift the eyeshadow pot off the straighteners with some tweezers and flip it around.
(the plastic pan will have melted somewhat at this stage)
Holding the pot with your index finger and thumb and with your other hand pushing your Knife up through the melted plastic until the metal pan falls out.
(Again be cautious with this step as the metal pan will be hot)

Step 4.

Once the pan has cooled down place in your palette and Viola- A stress-free organised palette with all your favourite eyeshadows!
(This is my finished result, as you can see I've hit pan on my favourites which will soon need replaced hehe)

(Palette is from Z Palette.com)

*This is demonstrated using MAC Eyeshadow pots, although this method does work with most eyeshadow pots.

**Remember to keep your empty MAC containers to take back to your nearest MAC counter in exchange for a free Lipstick of your choice.
6 empties= 1 Lipstick. What's not to love!

2013 MakeUp Favorites! :)

First of all a very *Happy New Year* I hope 2014 brings health and happiness to you all :)

As my first official MakeUp post I thought I would share some of my favourite and most used MakeUp products of 2013.

1. Drugstore Foundation: L'OREAL TRUE MATCH

This has been my holy grail drugstore foundation for 2013,
(Bourjouis healthy mix comes in a close second.)
True match is a super blendable liquid with buildable coverage.
It comes in an array of shades with warm, neutral and cool undertones.
A great everyday foundation and a very affordable price at only €12.99.

2. High-End Foundation: NARS SHEER GLOW

A glowing and radiant finish foundation that evens out skintone.
This foundation has a sheer buildable coverage and is most suitable for normal-dry skin types.
It is very hydrating and feels very smooth on the skin.
Nars sheer glow retails at a respectable €34.

3. MAC PROLONGWEAR CONCEALER

Dark circles being a major problem for me, this concealer is a must have! Great for under eye circles and blemishes alike, this light weight fluid concealer provides a medium to full coverage.
It is available in an array of shades (NC Neutral Cool) or (NW Neutral Warm) and has a matte finish.
A little goes a long way with this product which lasts up to 15hours when set correctly with powder.
Price: Approx €20 (9ml bottle)

4. BENEFIT HOOLA BRONZER

This is the UK's No.1 selling Bronzer and currently my favourite. It is a very pigmented matte brown Bronzer which suits almost any skin type.
You can build up the coverage to how little or how heavy you like it. I love to use this as a subtle contouring product.
Price: Approx €28.

 5. MAC Skinfinish Powder: 'SOFT & GENTLE.'

MAC Soft & Gentle is my all time favourite highlighter! It is a luxurious velvety champagne coloured powder with a metallic frost finish. Dust along the top of the cheekbones, browbone and cupids bow for a beautiful glow to the skin.
Price: Approx €28.

6. Urban Decay: NAKED PALETTE (1)

This is the very first of the Naked trilogy and I have to say it is still my favourite.
Although i do like the other two palettes, I feel this is the most versatile of the three and I have hit pan on most colours. The shades range from the palest champagne to the grittiest gunmetal.
The eye shadows are strongly pigmented (be sure to tap of the excess before applying) and they are very smooth to apply. Its also very easy to go from a natural day look to a sultry evening look with this palette.
As a bonus you receive a free eyeshadow brush and a mini sized primer potion which works wonders in ensuring your eyeshadow stays put for longer.
The palette is well worth investing in and will last you a long time.
Price: Approx €40.
(As the Naked 3 is new out, I have yet to give it a fair go so I will share my opinion on it at a later stage!)

7. Catrice: LIQUID EYELINER 'Dating Joe Black'

At only €4.99 this fine liquid eyeliner pen is a bargain & very easy to use (suitable for beginners!)
It has a felt tip for a smooth glide and is extremely black!
It doesnt flake or smudge throughout the day, however is very easy removed with eye makeup remover/cleanser. (It also comes in a waterproof version.)
It's definitely my go-to eyeliner at the moment, all in all great budget buy!
(Available at most drugstores)

8. MAC Lipstick: RUSSIAN RED

Anyone who know me knows I am a Lipstick fanatic! I especially love bright & bold colours and a classy red is undoubtably my favourite pick.
I have opted for MAC's Russian Red a huge amount of times throughout last year (in particular for nights out.)
This rich red has a blue undertone and suits most skin types. It has a smooth velvety texture when applied and doesn't feel drying on the lips like some other Mac Lipsticks tend to.
This is definitely my 'holy grail' lipstick of 2013.
Price: Approx €18.

* Well ladies that's just a few of my favourite MakeUp buys of 2013 which I'm sure I will continue using into this year. I hope you enjoyed this post and found it helpful, feel free to share suggestions on what posts you would like to see in the future.

Thanks so much for visiting
